In 2022, I was in the US for an exchange program, where I learned relief printing techniques. I began exploring the interaction between materials and paper. Relief printing often features strong contrasts; however, I wanted to show delicate textures like grains. I used duct tape to stick to a piece of soil covered in stone dust and sand to replicate the surface of the land. The characteristics of reverse printing in letterpress break the letters into puzzle-like images, allowing me to set aside my rigidity in organizing sentences. I played with the positions and orientations of letters and symbols, creating a game-like design that resembled a labyrinth. I also experimented with semantic shifts, hiding a short phrase among the letters—behind the playful facade lies a serious yet restless thought…

在2022,我有機會遠去美國做交流生,在那學習凸版畫的技巧。我開始嘗試尋找材料與紙本的互動,凸版畫時常有強烈對比的畫面,而我想保留細膩微小的凹凸痕跡。於是我用膠紙沾滿碎石散沙,嘗試複印土地的表面。活字印刷反向複製圖像的特性把文字拆成一顆顆零件般的圖形拼圖,也讓我暫時放下了組織語言的固執。我玩弄轉換著字母與符號的位置與方向,套用遊戲般的設計拼湊似乎接近迷宮的框架。我也嘗試了文字與語意的交換,隱藏了一句短句在字母中。在「玩」同「講」的背後,隱藏著認真卻又無力的信息。
